The lyrics to The Beatles Birthday were written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon and the initial idea for the song came up in India as a birthday song for George's wife Patti.
Back in the UK Paul revamped the song, that was was inspired by a Tuneweavers song named happy, happy birthday, and gave it a rock 'n' roll kick on the piano for the forthcoming birthday of Linda McCartney who was to be 26.
The new Birthday song was worked on and written in the abbey road studios by all the members of the Beatles.
