Beatles Album: Abbey Road : Track 15
Year: 1969
Lyrics: Lennon, McCartney
Length: 1.37
Carry that weight was originally going to be a single, but got demoted to being part of the medley.
This is the third of the songs on the Abbey road album that was inspired by the business meetings that were going on behind the scenes about who had the rights to be the Beatles manager. The carry that weight lyrics were by Paul and tells of the pressures of coping with fame and fortune and all the hangers on who made his life a misery and added to the load on his back.
In the middle of the carry that weight song, Paul does a refrain of you never give me your money used earlier on in the Abbey Road medley.
