Beatles Album: Let It be : Track 2

    Year: 1970

    Lyrics: Lennon, McCartney

    Length: 3.55

The dig a pony song title was originally called Con a lowry and was written in the studios by John Lennon while filming for the get back film. The song has two main elements the 'dig a pony' piece and 'All I want is you'.

Dig a pony has many made up on the spot lyrics and even references the moondogs; one of the early names that the Beatles had in their early days.

The all I want is you was also by John but was originally going to be a different song; John put the two together and renamed the song dig a pony for rhyming purposes.

Dig a pony was recorded live on the rooftop of the apple studios and was used in the get back film.
