Beatles Album: The Beatles AKA The White Album : Track 7
Year: 1968
Lyrics: Harrison
Length: 4.46
The Beatles while my guitar gently weeps song lyrics were written by George Harrison. At the time of writing the song George was inspired by the principles of chance as described in the Chinese book 'I Ching'. He picked a book out of his parents book shelf and decided to write a song bases upon what he saw, what he saw were the words 'gently weeps'.
Although George loved the song the other Beatles didn't seem overly keen to record it so he got on the phone to Eric Clapton and asked him to play lead guitar on while my guitar gently weeps.
