Beatles Album: Help: Track 3
Year: 1965
Lyrics: Lennon and McCartney
Length: 2.08
The lyrics to the Beatles song you’ve got to hide your love away are by John Lennon. Again the influence that Bob Dylan was having on him can clearly be seen, with the lyrics being very personal and intense and his inner feelings being put own onto paper.
Another song about the breakdown of relationships, John is describing his heartfelt feelings; it is possible that Lennon wrote the song as a warning to Brian Epstein, who he felt needed to keep his gayness away from the public eye to stop him being destroyed.
