This site covers the original British Beatles Albums plus analyses of the lyrics of non-album tracks.
Information on how the Beatles wrote the lyrics to their singles can be navigated from below.
The lyrics to the Beatles you know my name song were wrote by John. He wanted to write a song in the style of the four tops, and the lyric was inspired from the front of a telephone directory. Although it was released as the B side of Let it Be and released in 1970 the song was actually initiated in 1967 and finalised in 1969.
In addition to the original four tops style the Beatles elaborated the melodies of you know my name into other styles as well. They also added lyrics about Denis O'Dell who worked with them on the Hard days night film; this resulted in Denis being randomly called by Beatles fans telling him that they have his name and number.
