Beatles Album: The Beatles AKA The White Album : Track 24
Year: 1968
Lyrics: Harrison
Length: 3.08
George Harrison was inspired to write the Beatles long long long upon hearing the guitar work on the Bob Dylan track sad eyed lady of the lowlands. The long long long song was originally titled 'its been a long long long time' (as sang on the song).
Long long long is a song about god, and how it made him feel. Although the rest of the Beatles became somewhat disillusioned with religion following the sour end to their time studying at the academy of meditation in Rishikesh, George Harrison still had a profound interest in Eastern philosophies. And although he moved on from the teachings of the Maharishi he found solace in the studies of Krishna. Long Long Long is an attempt by George to sum up his feelings and love for god.
