This site covers the original British Beatles Albums plus analyses of the lyrics of non-album tracks.
Information on how the Beatles wrote the lyrics to the Rubber Soul album songs can be navigated from below.
John Lennon wrote the lyrics to run for your life. The song is based upon a line from an Elvis Presley song “I’d rather see you dead little girl than to be with another man”.
Though John changed the meaning of the Presley song, which was about how much the guy loves the girl, into a threatening style. The lyrics reflect a revengeful and wicked nature. This is another of the songs that John considered to be a throwaway album filler. Musically the song appears to be put together by combining two of their songs from earlier albums little child and bad boy.
