The lyrics of the things we said today song were written by Paul McCartney while he was holiday with Jane Asher and Ringo in the Caribbean . He wrote the lyrics whilst on board the yacht ‘Happy days’. The song is dedicated to the moment, in that he knew that he would soon be parted from his love one. As a Beatle, the amount of time that Paul could spend with Jane was very limited, and so the song ‘things we said today’ was his way of telling Jane that he’ll be always think about her.
The opening of things we said today is very similar to nature to the song ‘guitar tango’ by the shadows. Paul takes the main lead and his vocals are double tracked, John Lennon does the harmony vocals.
