Beatles EP: Magical Mystery Tour : Track 5
Year: 1967
Lyrics: Lennon, McCartney
Length: 2.33
Your Mother should know was another of Paul McCartney's contributions for the Magical Mystery film. It is thought by many that your mother should know was Paul's original contribution to the live 'our world' project. Both Paul and John went away separately to come up with a simple song for the project. It was John Lennon's All you need is love that was chosen for the live broadcast.
The Beatles your mother should know song has a very similar feel to Paul's when I'm 64, with it harking back to an earlier day and probably inspired by the type of music that his father used to play.
Paul takes control on his song, he sings the lead vocals and plays the piano on your mother should know. George's Indian influences are now beginning to shine through and he plays the Tabla.
John Lennon: Backing vocals, Organ
Paul McCartney: Lead Vocals, Backing vocals, Bass guitar, Piano
George Harrison: Backing vocals, Tambourine, Tabla
Ringo Starr: Drums
